The Kress KR280E is an advanced, satellite-guided robotic lawnmower designed for lawns up to 800 m² (approximately 0.2 acres) that uses an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system and AI-powered visual navigation. It operates without the need for traditional perimeter wires or a fixed reference antenna, using RTKn (Real-Time Kinematic) technology for centimetre-level accuracy.
Key Features and Technology
- Wireless Navigation: The KR280E uses RTKn satellite guidance, eliminating the need for complex boundary wire installations.
- EyePilot® Vision System: This system leverages a mono camera, V-SLAM (Visual Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping), and AI algorithms to see and identify obstacles, even under dense tree cover or in shadows where satellite signals might weaken.
- All-Terrain Capability: The 4-wheel drive system and articulating body design allow it to conquer steep slopes up to 83.9% (40°) and handle uneven terrain while keeping all four wheels grounded.
- Efficient Mowing: It uses a systematic, parallel-line mowing pattern for high efficiency and a professional, striped finish, unlike random-mowing robots.
- TurfSteer System: This feature enables smooth, grass-safe turns and precise manoeuvring through complex layouts without damaging the lawn.
- ZeroTrim (Optional Feature on some models but not on the KR280E): While some other Kress models offer a ZeroTrim function for cutting right to the edge, the KR280E does not include this feature.
- Connectivity: It connects via WiFi, Yardlink, and 4G for network connectivity and remote operation through an app.
